I Care About…
I have often relied on the kindness of strangers
–Tennessee Williams, A Streetcar Named Desire, 1951
Several months ago, Amy B. sent me an e-mail about Amyloidosis.* I kind of knew what it is. After all, I watched House on TV, so I had an idea that it is a serious disease and that is all I knew. But thanks to Amy, I now know more about it. And, more importantly, her e-mail started me thinking about how many people have an issue or a cause that they are passionate about and that I have the skills and the technology to help people share their passion with others. Hence this web page was created.
For many of us, there has been a time when we or someone we love needed help, something we could not do on our own, and we had to rely upon the kindness of strangers to lift us up or help us out. Sometimes, it is just a person holding a door open for us, other times it may be helping us up when we fall. However, sometimes the kindness of strangers is the difference in having enough food to eat or a roof over our heads; or medicine for a serious illness.
So, this is a non-partisan, non-denominational blog that celebrates the kindness of others gives you the opportunity to tell the world what you care about – the organization, charity or group that helped you out when you needed it and invite other readers to support your passion. The organization should be a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit enterprise.
